Womens football pub branding concept
BrItish pub culture is regarded as one of the most popular leisure activities for adults, and even more so surrounding sports, where a large male population spends time watching live games at the pub, enjoying drinks and quality food with friends and family.
With the Euro’s 2021 around the corner, not many pubs shows love and appreciation for the women playing football and representing our nation. That’s why we encourage the nation to support the Lionesses, and what better place to do so, enjoying the live football with a cold pint and a passionate atmosphere.
This project was selected to be featured in The Best Hospitality Logo by DesignRush, a platform known for promoting the best designs.
THE PURPOSE.
This project creates an atmosphere that encourages the growing interest in women’s football in the UK, using the Euro 2021 competition as a touchpoint. A visual identity for a brand of pubs was devised to encourage an older male audience (45-60) to enjoy the game in a familiar social setting.
THE LOGO
The brand’s Logo design symbolises the unity between the passion from a Rose, and the pride of a Lioness, both representations of the England National team.
THE PALETTE
The Brand’s colour palette creates a sense of patriotism for the cause and high energy. The clean contrast between the colours will make the brand stand out with it’s bold and colourful approach.

Research revealed a lack of interest from this audience, largely attributed to a lack of player publicity. My project accounts for this, tailoring key visual elements around the patriotism of the women’s national team.
With the Euro’s 2021 being based across the UK, there is an opportunity to increase publicity regarding the individual players, through using their outstanding achievements in Women’s football as a focal point to increase interest in the sport, particularly the audience that will watch the matches at their local pubs.

ADVERTISING TECHNIQUES
Different advertising features will be key to prompt an increased interest in women’s football, combining traditional pub visuals with modern design features to create a unique chain of pubs that welcome an older male age group, but also introduce women’s football to the general UK public.
